The German health magazine "Helpraxisnet" recently published the results of a study conducted by a South Korean research team on the effective impact of Coffee Cherry (Peaberry) — a variety of coffee — in protecting against serious diseases such as diabetes and fatty liver disease, as well as reducing blood lipid levels.
The publication pointed out that various studies have already proven that coffee cherries can reduce the risk of diabetes and liver diseases, corroborating the findings reached by the South Korean research team.
The study attributes these effects to the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of coffee cherry, in addition to other beneficial constituents alongside caffeine, such as chlorogenic acids like trigonelline and diterpenes.
These compounds have demonstrated positive impacts on regulating blood sugar, enhancing liver functions, and added to the benefits of coffee cherries are improvements in the activity of liver glucose enzymes, activation of fat metabolism, and the modulation of fat-digesting enzymes in the pancreas.
