A British investigative newspaper reported on Saturday that the Royal Air Force conducted 50 reconnaissance flights over the skies of the Gaza Strip to provide intelligence information to Israel.
Declassified UK, a publication specializing in research on military and intelligence institutions, added that aircraft took off from the British Akrotiri Air Base in southern Cyprus and carried out 50 reconnaissance flights over Gaza since the beginning of last December, at a rate of one flight per day, to provide intelligence information to Israel.
The newspaper stated that the British military used Shadow R1 aircraft in its aerial operations, which are utilized in the fields of reconnaissance and surveillance.
It detailed that the first British aerial missions over Gaza began on December 3rd, with three flights conducted on January 3rd, each lasting six hours.
The British Ministry of Defence in a statement on December 3rd indicated that reconnaissance flights would be conducted over Gaza “to provide intelligence information to Israel to support the prisoner rescue operation in Gaza”.
It is noteworthy that Declassified UK had previously mentioned, on November 26th, that American and British military aircraft had taken off from Akrotiri Base to assist Israel, and that 33 air military flights were conducted between the base and Tel Aviv, including C-17A cargo aircraft, during the period from October 13th to 26th.
