United Nations Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, asserted last Saturday that Israel’s colonization of the Palestinian territories it has occupied since 1967 constitutes a war crime. Albanese called for the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for those responsible for illegal settlements.
The assertion was made in a post by Albanese on her ‘X’ platform account, responding to news about a coalition of illegal settlement organizations — generously supported by the Israeli government — organizing a practical preparatory conference for settling in Gaza.
Colonisation of occ. territory has been ISR’ state policy since 1967, implying transfer of ISR civilians in lands confiscated from Pals (war crime) & mass Pal forced displacement (poss. crime agst humanity).
May these ongoing crimes be met with arrest warrants soon.@karimkhan https://t.co/bBNzg4Wd7V

Albanese confirmed, “Colonizing the occupied territories has been the state policy of Israel since 1967, meaning the resettlement of Israeli civilians onto confiscated Palestinian lands (war crime), and the mass forced displacement of Palestinians (possible crime against humanity).”
She expressed hope that arrest warrants would soon be issued against the perpetrators of these ongoing crimes.
